No! Linq is free to use. We do offer advanced features through Linq Pro for $5/month or $50/year or Linq Pro Plus for $19/month or $150/year, but it is a completely optional upgrade.
Our cards are programmed via NFC and can only be used with Linq accounts. We use special UUID's so that these cards can only be activated and used with the Linq app. So these shouldn't be able to be reprogrammed, and it is completely safe.
